holds itself together
with fright.
A gaze is fright.
It is what allows us
to be here.
In each world
there is one bird
trapped in a bag
by a fist.
In each bird
there is one girl.
In each girl, there is
another girl, there are two.
One catches the light. The other
is having the time of her life.
She suffers
with what she lives.
